Your Encryption Key is a unique digital security number that identifies you when you connect to our servers and back up your files and folders. It is automatically created for you the first time you log-in to the software. In the rare event that your computer were to crash and you wanted to install our software on another computer and continue using your current account, you would be asked for your Encryption Key when you try to sign-in to the software you downloaded on the new computer. Because of this, it is very important that you save your key and store it somewhere safe in case you need it in the future. You can print it out or save it electronically to an external drive, like a thumb drive.
